BY KEMRY FARTHING.
You’re learning how to give me a name
sound it out
remove toes from mouth
bottom lip folds in
The sound takes the shape of your cheeks
soft at me
round it out
sounds in repetition
Just like you rolling from hip to hip
It makes its way out
and you look to me
You’ve never been more right
Kemry Farthing is mother to a one-year-old hat aficionado. She lives in Virginia between two massive willow oaks and enjoys hand piecing quilts to relieve stress. She writes poetry and middle grade adventure fiction. Her work has been published through Riza Press and is forthcoming with Flare.
